BZ - What are you expectations of the Congress and what are
you looking forward
to?
I'm here to have some fun, meet people from other countries and
learn
salsa through other cultures. I have a hospitality background so
I enjoy
meeting people and salsa allows me to do just that. As for the congress
I'm looking forward to meeting the people that are going to help
me do classes to learn more,
and just basically enjoy myself and have a bit ova vacation away
from Adelaide and promote Salsa.
BZ - Fantastic. Tell me a little bit about "La Bomba", how
long have you guys
been together?
And what is your experience with the Group?
I've been friends with the "owners" Hugo and Natalie: they've been
in the Salsa
Scene in Adelaide for 5 yrs; they've just had their Anniversary.
Before that the
scene in Adelaide has been very very small, so now it's actually
starting to
grow. So it's just good clean fun in my view.
BZ - What would you say to people that are not in the Dance
Scene:
How would you explain
Salsa?
A product really sells itself, so I don't think anything should
be pushed. But Salsa
really makes you want to dance; you just want to get up and do it.
The roots are
from Africa and Cuba and a lot of African music just makes you want
to dance.
As for the learning it's very social. You meet a lot of people,
I'm a Chef and
you're a Secretary/Reporter/Instructor/Dancer etc. ha-ha…so there
you go.
You meet people from all sorts of different professions, and organisations.
BZ - Wouldn't you agree that Salsa is like a Drug?
Absolutely, once you get hooked, that's it. You just get dragged
in
and enjoy yourself.
BZ - Thank you so much and enjoy yourself here while you're
in Sydney.
Thanks a lot.
