ALEX from San Francisco ( Alex and Chi LEE )
BZ> Alex, welcome to Sydney how do you feel?
I feel great, we're having a BLAST already and looking forward to
it all very much.
BZ> Alex, considering this is your first time in Sydney,
what do you
expect to see at
the Congress?
Well, first of all I expect to see that the Australian people are
great dancers and know how to have a good time. You know, I'm looking
forward to meeting all the Australians and learning their style
of dancing.
BZ> Can you tell me a little bit about your Dancing, how long
have you
been dancing/
teaching and the Salsa Scene in San Francisco?
I've been dancing for about 5 yrs and I don't teach that much in
San Francisco,
only when I go abroad. Lee and I have been doing that for the past
year. And
although I am a Fireman by trade, my other profession. Salsa is
my Passion.
I teach On ONE and in SF at the moment On One and On Two is being
taught equally.
BZ> Can you give some advice to "non dancers" and 'beginners"
out there
in Sydney?
I would say "be patient with yourselves, its' going to take a while
before you
get there, but when you do, you will NEVER stop" That's my belief.
BZ> You and Chi specialize in your Arials and your Tricks,
your
comments on that?
Well, that is all that we teach actually, and these are very time
consuming
and complex. And I won't teach those to Groups, only to Partners
ie.
One on one. And they have to be strict partners, I won't just teach
couples for the day. It's a more advanced and specific style of
dancing.
BZ> What do you think is the best part about Salsa?
The fact that there are people all ages, all groups, all nationalities,
all colours,
and from every kind of profession. That's just great
BZ> Alex I wish you all the very best and have a great time
in Sydney.
Thank You for choosing me and I'm so looing forward to it.
